Applications

 

Gyprock™ plasterboard is used as an internal lining board to provide smooth, strong, long-lasting walls and ceilings for homes, offices, hospitals, hostels for the aged, schools, shops and factories. Its durable surface will accept most types of decorative finishing, including paint, wallpaper and texture compounds.

Joints between Gyprock™ plasterboard sheets are reinforced and concealed to provide a smooth, durable finish to the whole surface. Alternatively, the joints may be covered with a decorative moulding.

Gyprock Aquachek™ can be used in wet areas in accordance with details in the Wet Area Installation section. It can also be used for exterior ceilings and eaves lining, provided the ceilings are protected from the weather.

Gyprock® Perforated Plasterboard  
Gyprock® Perforated Plasterboard has been specifically developed for use in ceilings where additional sound absorption is required. It is a machine made sheet composed of a gypsum core encased in a heavy-duty linerboard and incorporates CD technology. Long edges are recessed to assist in producing a smooth, even and continuous surface once jointed. Gyprock® Perforated Plasterboard has perforations which total 8.2% of the sheet area.

Gyprock Party Wall  

Gyprock™ Party Wall

Gyprock™ Party Wall System is designed to provide a separating wall between dwellings that are side-by-side such as town houses.

Gyprock™ Party Wall comprises a double frame wall with a fire barrier between the frames. The principle of the fire performance is the central 25mm fire barrier that provides the primary fire resistance. This allows the wall linings to be installed as per normal decorative linings and to incorporate penetrations.

The principle of the acoustic performance is the double wall framing. This enhances the impact isolation while the cavity insulation on both sides compensates for any penetrations and services that may occur.

The EC08™ Range  

The expansion of the EC08™ range of plasterboards is a response to the market, which is looking for a wider range of products for green building projects. The new products that have been added to the range provide more economical solutions as well as options for impact areas surpassing the performance of current plasterboard options. All products in the range are manufactured to AS2588 – Gypsum Plasterboard.

All products in the range have been certified by GECA as meeting the requirements of their environmental standard for Panel Boards. This process has also led to the development of Gyprock’s ReCore™ technology pushing the level of recycled content to over 20% for EC08™ Impact.
